Default OS: 9000 5.0.0.1137/5.0.0.681 (East Asia + English)

Please Login to Remove!

BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.1137 (EastAsia)

Package Version: 5.0.0.1137
Consisting of:

* Applications: 5.0.0.681
* Software Platform: 5.2.0.64
* File name: 9000EastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel1137_PL5.2.0.64_A5.0.0.68 1_Optus_Mobile_Pty_Limited.exe
* File size: 115.42MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

* Download Software: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...4E92D025A75D1F

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the AppLoader says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

No one is forcing you to upgrade if you are already happy with the version you are currently running. Usually these updated versions have bug fixes, memory leak fixes, compatibility fixes...

No OFFICIAL multilanguage yet... I believe the leaked version was multilanguage. Check the Beta section.

I have upgrade to .681 around a week ago. It feels better than .601, although I noticed my BB is rebooting more often that it usually did.

I also had a problem since I upgrade from OS 4.6 to OS 5.0.
After the upgrade everything works fine. Whenever my BB reboots, I get that I have un-read sms/mms (of course I do not have any unread (nothing under saved messages etc)). When I reboots again sometimes it shows correctly (remove that I do no have any unread sms/mms), but most of the times increases the number of unread sms/mms by 2. Now I've been stuck with it showing that I have 4 unread sms/mms.

Not sure if anyone else faced this kind of annoying issue.
Could be my DB of messages is getting corrupted?
How can remove this unread count? Can I force it any way?

Any ideas would be more than helpful.
Thanks,
Espresso

Uninstall DM. Downgrade to OS 4.6 and do a battery pull ot fix the issue, then upgrade back to 5.0.

Well I think I got a bug after using it 2 days. The default setting for the Left key is set to 'Help' instead of Voice dialing in this OS, and that Help thing is automatically opening up in an unspecific interval, Yes, I am sure I didn't accidentally press the Left key, it's just coming up automatically, which is so weird. I've changed it to Nothing to stop this sh*t.
If anyone else noticed this bug please make your input here.
Thanks.

Exclamation Question

I have the the previous OS installed on my Bold, I don't have a data plan yet; use to but took an extended vacation this year and I am back not working yet so I don't really "need" the data plan yet. :o)

My problem is after I upgraded to the previous OS I noticed my default games like Poker and some of the applications vanished off my phone. I am not sure if they only appear if there is a data connection or what?

So if they don't require the data connection to be active on the phone how do I install the latest OS so I get the applications and games back that I lost that are suppose to be with the OS?

Thanks
Andrew

That brings up one glaring omission from all of the software linked on here. Where the heck are the release notes for all these builds? It sure would be nice to know what is unique to each build!

Are these release notes available somewhere on Blackberry.com?

I've been using this build since it came out and it was been a great improvement. Slower memory leakage, good battery life and it appears improved phone signal.
