Software For BlackBerry® Bold (TM) 9000 smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.771 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 5.0.0.771
Consisting of:
Applications: 5.0.0.464
Software Platform: 5.2.0.41
File name: 9000M_PBr5.0.0_rel771_PL5.2.0.41_A5.0.0.464_Zain_K uwait.exe
File size: 119.27MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...80E001B0BD9842

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the AppLoader says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Please help. Since upgrading to this version, everything works well except visual voice mail doesnt seem to work. Whenever someone leaves a message, I get a jumbled message on my phone and have to dial into voice mail. Can I either entirely delete it so no jumbled message appears or can I get it so the VVM works?

Anyone knows whether the annoying SMS bug from 411 was fixed or whether we need to replace the COD again to an earlier beta version?

Thanks!

I don't have visual voicemail so this has never been a problem for me, but in looking at all the past OS upgrade threads, visual voivemail support seems to be the distinct exception for all but a few OS upgrades. Even with an official ATT 4.6 OS upgrade some people still have problems. I would search the forum, as I think there is a way, by inserting cods onto your BlackBerry to get VVM working even in an OS which does not otherwise support VVM.

Just do a search here in the forum - 216312-sms-fix-os-411-a; that would be great to have this fixed ... might plunge to the upgrade tonight.

Also, when pushing and hold A to lock the keypad, the phone seems to be defaulting it to putting the phone in standby. Not finding any mention of the former Lock option.

phone is running a little warm on this OS. weird. Keeping an eye on the battery to see if it'll end up doing a big dump.

loaded it up earlier today. Seems to be performing the same as 5.0.0.411.
This time it did not seem to take as long to get reauthorized on the BES.
Also this time previous theme came up without having to re-assign.
Same minor issue with PocketDay as previous OS 5 in that I am unable to skroll down on opening up utill I touch a key.

Installed it today--for some reason, the install went much more quickly than usual, under 30 minutes. So far, so good. I managed to wipe out my existing BB Messenger, but that was an easily remedied user error. I'm not noticing the warm-battery issue, though I have had that previously with earlier OSes, and it seems to be tied to Google Maps, especially when I try to use Latitude.

I'm mainly wondering if AT&T users are having any issues with their VVM? I know no version of 5.0 has had it working correctly yet from what I've read.
