IMO, it does not business sense to release 5.0 for 9000 anytime soon since most telco are just releasing the 9700. There would be less incentive for existing 9000 owners to upgrade to 9700 if we are able to upgrade our 9000 to 5.0 now.

Plenty of leaks in the beta section.. official or not, I don't see the need to make it official anytime soon.

I'm quite happy just periodically updating the 5.0 releases.

I was slightly nervous to switch to a beta non branded OS, but 5.0.0.411 has been great in the 3 days I've had it. Great battery life, good memory usage. I wouldn't worry too much with AT&T dropping an official version anytime soon. It took what, 7-8 mos to get an initial update from the original version.

There are still some bugs present in the "current" 411 release:
- The device is restarting from time to time, not as frequent as in the previous releases, but about every 4 days 1 time
- The search function does not return correct results
- problems with the built in camera

But this is the first beta which I can recommend for everyday use. I dont think it will take very long for an official release - maybe one or two month

I've got v5.0.0.411 installed on my device for about a week now and it has acted quite nicely. I haven't had any reboot. Device has been very responsive, I love the new SMS interface, and overall I can't complain.

The only issues I've seen at all is that the VVM has to be reinstalled by hand and the left programmable key that I have set to bring up "Manage Connections" sometimes doesn't do anything when I press it.

Other than that, everything has been working great!

Default Nav4All mapping

Nav4All is working properly on V5.0.0.411. Although the mapping function is giving an "image failed" error.
Metro is working properly as well.

I've been using a non-official v5.0.0.411 for over a month and I'm so happy with it.

Everything works great EXCEPT the battery drain is annoying! So you need to charge it twice or more everyday.

Some users, however, claimed that if you wipe the bb with BSAK and then install the v5.0.0.411, the battery drain will disappear!

I HIGHLY recommend this version

I'm not one of those users. I get way more battery drain and memory leak with .411 than the standard issue Bell version of 4.6. I just scored two Bolds (one for me and one for my wife for Xmas). Her Bold manages battery life much better and always shows a lot more memory available and it doesn't run down as quickly.

As much as 5.0 is pretty good, this beta is not ready for prime time, IMHO. I don't like having to charge my Bold all the time.
