Default Urgent: Change in "more" behavior

Please Login to Remove!

Yes, I know it seems like not so urgent a problem, but I am getting huge pressure about this inconvenience from my CEO.

I have users on 8700c devices and we run BES 4.1.2.25. Each phone is set to "auto more". In the past, they have only had to request "more" for particularly large inbound messages.

Suddenly yesterday they began having to ask for "more" when viewing sent messages on their phone. Even single line messages that they sent out.

Any ideas on this? I did re-activate his phone yesterday, but have reviewed all settings and do not see any variation from how he was previously setup. And server settings were not touched. (I also see this behavior on my phone)

Am I missing a method to fix this on the server or on the phones?

Thanks, Mike

I cant remember Sent messages ever having the full message downloaded. In my memory I have *always* had to hit the more button, regardless if "auto-more" is set as on. Sorry!

Quote:
Q: How does the Auto-More feature on the handheld work?

A: The Auto-More feature on the BlackBerry Wireless Handheld automatically retrieves up to 2 KB more of a message until the complete message is received by the handheld.

Try turning Auto More off, restart the device and then turn auto more back on.

Also googled and found this info
Quote:
When the Auto More feature is enabled, it cannot retreive additional information for the following types of messages:

Messages sent from the email client that are synchronized with the BlackBerry device
Messages that were automatically populated during an enterprise activation
Messages that have been processed by a Forward header only filter
Messages that have been moved or deleted
Messages sent by a delegate on behalf of another user

Your google search must have been more intelligently written then mine. I am sure that my CEO is "mis-remembering" being able to see messages sent via his desktop without requesting "more". Hopefully the quotes you sent will convince him of that.

I tried your suggestion of automore-off, automore-on, and it fixed the messages that it is supposed to work on.

Many thanks Zharin.
