Default BES Crashing Exchange! Please help...

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, so we have had this BES 4.1 server functioning properly for about six months with an Exchange 2000 server. Yesterday our Exchange server crashed on us with no error messages in the logs. Now it appears that every time Blackberry Controller Service comes up it crashes the Exchange Information Store. Sadly, like I said I have no logs at all... Any direction on where to look for this problem would be well appreciated!

Perhaps BES didn't corrupt Exchange but maybe a corrupted db crashes Exchange when BES interacts...

Does the actual Server OS crash or just Exchange? Nothing in the Event logs that can help point to a cause? Did you do any recent updates? Does the Exchange run fine for a good long period of time without the BES?

Sounds like it might take some deep troubleshooting to fix the problem...

I have never heard of BES crashing Exchange. I think you're looking in the wrong place.

Considering everyone was just setup on new info stores in new storage groups, I must admit I'm have my doubts about that the corrupted stores...especially after it passes every ESEUTIL and ISINTEG test that Microsoft has.

gziz, no one ever said that the BES was corrupting his exchange. When exchange is having problems, my experience has been that it can do some really crazy stuff.

I agree w/ BBAdmin, I dont think this is BES's fault, however if the behavior he noticed is as he said, its possible that the BES is accessing a part of exchange which might be having issues.

Now you say here that everyone was set up on new info stores in new storage groups. Were these set up this week when the crashes started, or were they set up 6 months ago?

Also, as Littlelegs asked, is the whole server going down, or just the exchange-related services?
