Default Blackberry Manager via Citrix

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone successfully utilized BlackBerry Manager via Citrix?

I can run BlackBerry Manager on my own PC (using SQL authentication) so I don't have to run it on the server. However, I want to pass this task on to another team which uses Citrix/Terminal Services.

I installed Blackberry Manager on the Citrix server, the setup works and the test connection is successful. However, the Manager doesn't launch.

Thanks for the feedback...at least i know it's possible now. Is there a special configuration required....or blackberry docs you found explaining the setup? (I'm not usually the one configuring the Citrix setups)

If not, I'll just hit up Blackberry support for info.

thanks,
Stuart

Do you have the software to map your USB port to the Citrix server? We use USB-IT from EOL.

Hello talldog,
I'm not talking about the Blackberry Desktop Manager or the Handheld Manager...I'm referring to running "BlackBerry Manager", which is the admin tool for creating users. I wouldn't think I need USB to run that (?)

thanks,
Stuart

Sorry, you're right. Guess I wasn't paying close enough attention.

You say you're not the one setting up so I figure I'll ask. Is it just one citrix server or a farm? Make sure that each citrix box can connect to the database running on the bes as they may have some ports locked down or likely the citrix boxes behind a firewall. Just a few more things to look at.

I am able to run the BlackBerry Server Configuration tool when logged into the citrix box, and the TEST button does indeed report success communicating with the BES Server. Maybe that's not a true full test of what is required however.

Ok like I say I'm reaching here, just troubleshooting as I would. Remember this is a MMC, not an actual app. Can you actually run the MMC on the citrix server and manage devices? Are the citrix servers 2003 or 2000? Here's a way out reach but RIM does have an article for the client running on citrix, I would "assume" that the minimum requirements would also apply to using the Blackberry manager, so you may want to take a look and ask your Citrix admins.
