Default Verizon wireless Blackberry Service Issues?

Please Login to Remove!

Is anyone else having network issues with their Verizon Wireless Blackberry?

My network connection seems to come in and out. It was dead for several hours this morning, came back fro a alittle while and then died again.

I'm having the same problem. Just for kicks I called Verizon Tech support. After a couple of transfers I got to the team the specialized in BBs. He said that there is some service being performed on the BB server and that unfortunately they didn't have an estimate of when the network would be back up. I'm having issues sending messages as well as connecting to the internet (phone seems to working fine as I used it to call VZN). I'd be interested to know if everyone is having the same problems.

I noticed problems with my Verizon 7250 around 5pm EST while out of the house. Could not send/receive mail, Lookup or use Internet. When I got home at 6pm, I checked our BES (I'm the BlackBerry admin) and it seemed okay...tried the BlackBerry again and it worked.

I am also experiencing a regular change in signal strength on my 7250 with Verizon. One second I have three bars, the next I have none. I am in the exact same spot, no movement. Just yesterday I lost 4 calls right in the middle of a conversation. I have asked other Verizon users (non BB) and they say they have seen the same thing. I assume its a Verizon signal strength issue. By the way, I live in a west burb of Chicago. I'm not sure if this is limited to a geographic area.

I just got off the phone with Verizon Wireless Data technical support. They are reporting that the Blackberry service is down, this mostly affects users of the Blackberry Web Client (BWC).

There is no estimate on when the service will be back up. This also seems to affect the Verizon Wireless Blackberry Web Browser, well at least for me.

The VZW data technical support hold time is rather long if anyone wants to call in as well. They are going flooded with Blackberry users right now.

I am out of service right now as well (7pm Pacific time).

I have had the 7250 for two weeks and this is the second service outage with Verizon.

I hope this is not a trend.

Quick update. I was able to get mail for a short time this afternoon (like 5 or 6 mst). Then back to nothing. Browser's still not working as of 130a mst. Guess I'll go to bed and check it in the morning. I hope this doesn't last long. Anyone else have any other news on this??

Unhappy

It's 11am on the east coast. My Verizon Wireless BB 7250 still CAN NOT connect to the internet or send/receive emails.

I'm not expecting it to work this weekend, maybe monday. But there has been no word from Verizon Wireless when their service will be back up.

It is 8:00 AM on the west coast and email is not working here on VZW. Cingular/ATT is working fine.

About 1135a here in AZ. Still nothing. Thinking about calling VZN but I'm not sure I want more run around from tech support. I can't believe how addicted I've gotten to this thing in just a couple of weeks!

EDIT: Just got off the phone with tech support. Looks like the network is up and running again (server maintenance is finished). I shut the device down and powered it back up and everything seems to be back in order. I would have done a soft-reset if it didn't cure it with the power down-up sequence. Is anyone else up and running again?

10:35 PST -- Browser won't connect. Phone works fine. Was out of service last night starting about 8:00PM and I checked at 11:00PM and still not working. Tried this morning at about 8:00AM and it connected to Berryvine long enough to download Minesweeper. Started playing that and thought everything was fine. Until.....

This "outage" is not indicative of my experience with Verizon however. Data user for the last 3 years and normally quite pleased with the service.

Did anyone who called customer service ask for/ or get a credit of any kind. I know they are not obligated, but just wondered.

I didn't even think to ask for a credit when I was on with tech support(see edit above), but good idea.

Rebooted, still no joy.... 11:45AM PST (Seattle area). I think a credit is in order. Let's see.

Using my trusty BB calculator (little else works at this moment), I will cipher using the almighty minute the wireless companies live and die by. Roughly 30 day billing cycle, multiplied by minutes in a day (1440). That gives us 43200 minutes in a billing cycle. Divide into $44.95 unlimited BB data service per month and we get $00.001 per minute. Not looking so good for credit purposes right now. Roughly 15 hour outage (so far) estimate. That gives us a credit of, ouch.... 90 cents. I can see why maybe no one asked for a credit... Oh well.

It is working here on the West cost in LA area. I had to go to the browser and open a page and suddenly it started getting messages.

It's 3:35pm on the east coast.

My BB 7250 can not send or receive messages and the internet browser does not work either.

Best I can tell they are not describing the problem properly, this has nothing to do with blackberry exactly but with Verizons Data Services. In any case I have found that 4 out of 5 times when they screw their provisioning again this weekend that I can delete the provisioning service book, go to the host routing tables, reregister the device and shortly it will work for a while again.

I re-registered and got connectivity back for a short time. But I'm back in the no mail or browser situation again. Maybe I'll re-register and see what happens.

5:08pm EST. Still not working, though it did this morning. I called Verizon Wireless Data Technical support a couple hours ago, they reconfirmed a "major outage" with no resolution time.

Hmmm, I sent myself a PIN from the BES and now mine's working again. Strange outage.

Still nothing here at 409pm mst. I put in another call to tech support but my guess is they're getting flooded with calls. I'm hoping at the least we're back up by tomorrow morning.
