Default Verizon Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have a friend who just got her first Verizon Blackberry 'world edition' 8880(?) and could'nt understand why her Blackberry Messenger was'nt working when I'm using a Sprint Blackberry 8703e.

Is Verizon still strict on 3rd party IM messenger apps or have they backed off? I suggested she use Google Talk IM to download because she has gmail herself.

Will she be able to download apps for her Verizon Blackberry 8880?

Thanks,

-A

Is your friend's BlackBerry device connected to a company BES server? If so, it's possible the IT Policy on the BES is restricting BBMessenger usage.

Her BB is not connected to a BES server at all. It's for her own personal reasons to communicate with family and friends here and out of the country due to the 'world edition's ability.

Thanks.

Does she have the application installed on her device?

...no, i think he meant the BB messenger app. also, how is she trying to connect to others using BB messenger? Is she using email or PIN. sometimes using email addresses doesn't work; the best way is to try and connect via PIN number.

I'm deaf and I suggested the BB Messenger for her to communicate to me that way. But she uses gmail as her sole account and that I use to contact her in this manner.

Thanks though.

But all blackberrys support PIN to PIN messages (BB Messenger). Since her phone has a unique PIN, you can IM messenger her using BB Messenger without her having to setup an AIM/Yahoo/MSN account.

BB messenger only works between blackberries. Are you trying to use it differently?
