I couldn't find "Manage Connections", but went to "Mobile Network" in Options, clicked on Network Mode...and then to 2G...and my AT&T mobile network went from showing 3G to "none"...
What am I doing wrong. I would like to switch to EDGE full time.
I don't think that option works on the AT&T network.

So Far So Good
Used Crackmem and DM 4.6.
Slightly quicker installation.
No problems and I love the ability to change 3G to EDGE. (AT&T)
Went from 51MB to 56MB memory.
Browser may be just a little snappier.
Now just waiting on a stable 5.0

Just upgraded an AT&T locked Bold and can also confirm that 2G is now available!

But dropping back to 2G precludes the simultaneous use of data and voice, correct?

The biggest loss for me with this release was evident last night when I went to play Texas Hold 'em King 2 and found out that the upgrade took away my bankroll of over 60K... GRRRRR.

Correct. I've never found that to be a big issue for me in the past. I do not spend much time with voice calls and am much more email centric.

Yup you can back things up as much as you want etc but for some reason cant get games to keep their info.

Very wierd. Normally I have to rearrange icons in themes, etc. This time, some of the basic theme folders (applications, setup) disappeared and needed to be recreated. No biggie. Just wierd.

This is great for the 2g/3g option
My upgrade is complete. All is working. Wifi, BT, 3G, Edge, and all my programs.
Interesting part is file total dropped to 93 but my file free increased.

It looks like the voicemail indicator shows up without having to remove the vvm COD files with this OS. Not huge, but a nice change.

3G signal strength seems similar at -110,to .266. Was hoping for an improvement.
Still too early for full evaluation.

Holly crap dude, ur at -110 reception on 3G??? That's rough. When u make calls u have to stand in one spot i'm guessing lol
I'm in etobecoke and i getting -70 on 3G and -57 on E right now. Down town ill get like -40 on E and -60 on 3G.
But im on fido. Maybe u should be too with that -110 crap...

Upgraded today from 266 to 282, without reinstalling apps and restoring settings.
Manually re-downloaded all my apps.
Reconfigured my BlackBerry.
Found out that :
-reboot is faster
-3G comparable to 266
-picture thumbnails display way slower
-WiFi fast (like 266)
-browser speed like 266 (good)
Not tested :
-calls (failed calls, network path not find etc ...)
-battery life under 3G

I did. As far as I can remember, I've never had to do it with any previous OS updates.

I never noticed this myself. Does this mean a 5.0 release is near? lol.
Also, anyone running reQall on this?

Just upgraded from 266 to 282. I did /not/ wipe the BB first.
It was a seamless process, and I didn't even have to re-register the usual 3rd party apps this time with the serial numbers. Saved quite a bit of time.
It seems a little faster, especially the browser. There is a definite app memory increase of about 7 mb. The 2G/3G switch now works. I loaded the VVM this time and it does show the voice mail icon. I wonder when ATT will actually give us VVM? I don't know yet about battery life improvements with this version.
I've said this before, but this time I think I mean it. No reason to upgrade any more 4.6.0.xxx OSes, and just wait for a stable 5.0 OS.

Working with TomTom Traffic?
Does anyone else here use their Bold 9000 with TomTom for Live Traffic updates? The phone connects to the TomTom (XL) via bluetooth fine in firmware versions fine using vu4.6.0.162 but anything newer than that it refuses to pair. I'm stuck using this version. Just wondered if anyone else has the same problem and if its been fixed in a newer release?
Cheers
