Default Missing Text Messages?

Please Login to Remove!

I have only had my Pearl a week or so and its my first BB so I'm still new to all of this but I am missing text messages. I texted back and forth with a friend last night for over an hour. There must have been 30 texts and I went to show a friend this morning what he had said and they are all gone! I KNOW I sent and received them. Where did they go? Can I access them somewhere? Why did they disappear?

Most common reason for texts disappearing is low device memory. Go to options > status and check your file free number. Post it here.

435346 bytes is what is free. I just bought a 2G memory card for it though.

That's very very low, its .4 of a MB. You need about 12mb (12.000.000)or more free memory for your device to run best.

Go to the FAQ section and look for John Clarke's memory optimization thread, there are lots of tips there to free up memory. But first, do a battery pull, take the battery out with the device powered on for 30 seconds and replace, check your file free number again and you will see that it has gone up as your caches etc will have been cleared. Do this regularly.

An SD card is only for media,

Ok. Now I have 10209823. How often should I do a battery pull?

every few days. Check your file free regularly and you will establish a routine.

I'd prefer it if you could free up a little more ... I have 40 + mb free on my Bold and had around 30mb free when I had a pearl.

Ok now I have 14440035 free. I deleted the sample video, all my messages, and a program I put on there that didn't work anyway. I can't find the John Clarke's memory optimization thread but I'm following a lot of the steps in the FAQs section. Anything else I can do?

It may be stickied somewhere, maybe someone will post a link

One of the biggest gains is from removing the preloaded wallpapers . I have always done this using an application called Crackmem when installing a new OS.

14mb puts you in the 'comfort zone' for now

That is what I can't figure out how to get rid of. The directions for getting rid of the languages doesn't work for my phone and I don't know how to get rid of the pre-loaded pictures/wallpaper.
