Default 6700 to 8703e on Sprint

Please Login to Remove!

I am currently a 6700 HTC user on Sprint. Has anyone made the transition to BB and I am specifically looking at the 8703e. I am so tired of my phone freezing up, and I really don't like having to do a regedit to get the dang thing to work.

wm5 and RIM are two different things. I use both, wm5 and RIM; however, not the 8703e but a 7290 instead. 8703e from Sprint is now available for ordering.

the transition is a dream, i have the xv6700 verizon model, and i'm telling you i finally truely realized what push technology really meant. the phone hasn't hung on me once, considering the 6700 froze the first day i had it. also 8703e is a pleasure to use as an actual phone unlike the 6700, it doesn't become a hot brick, battery is great compared to the xv6700, its smaller and lighter. there is much more, but you have to get it to realize, basically a smile on my face, so much less stress from this phone.

if you ask Inpocket, he is another member on this board who has had the xv6700 as well, and he will tell you that the transition is great. no remorse from switching.

the funny thing everyone who has had the xv6700 has had the same problems.

I'm a Sprint Service and Repair tech in GA and i have the 6700. I never gave the BB's much thought when i realized that they require an addition MRC for the PUSH and internet service.

After working on countless freezing/locking up Treos/ and my own 6700. I'm making the jump to an 8703e ASAP.

6700 has some of the best features of any smartphone availible, however, the battery is so short it undermines everything that is great about it.

We (Sprint Stores) recieved VERY limited numbers of 8703e's in the retail locations to launch with, BTW. If you want one this week I recommend getting it ASAP.

The comsumer BB plan is 34.99$ for X MB's and 49.99$ for unlimited 'net/SMS/Mail.

BTW i got a 6700 for Sale. Like NEW.

-Off the record. ;p

I just made the switch to the 8700 on Tmo from the 6700 on Sprint. I grabbed the Tmo unit to keep for international travel...I will be buying the Sprint 8703 tomorrow if I can find it locally..otherwise will order online. I can't tell you how much more I am enjoying the 8700 over the 6700. The 6700 is a powerful phone but the battery issue and constant lockups mean I always had to use it as more of a situational device rather then a full time phone. I still have my 6700 on Sprint (actually had 2 but sold one to make way for the 8703) and will keep it for the geek factor...but the 8703 will be on my primary line now. I find that typing on the 8700 is far more comfortable then on the 6700 keyboard and the screen is just big enough that I don't miss the screen on the 6700 at all. The most surprising thing I discovered was that browsing on the 8700 is a far better experience....I was initially thinking the browser was more of an afterthought on the 8700...wrong...it just works and works more quickly then on the 6700 for me. ..and the Tmo unit is on Edge verses EVDO on my 6700. I can't wait to get my hands on the 8703e. The only thing I regret is not trying the BB line earlier...if email is mission critical for you then you will be VERY happy with the 8703.
