So why isn't this device available in the U.S?
Typically the prices for a 8700g are around $250USD to $275USD.. anything higher and it most likely won't get sold. If you're located in Australia than maybe you'd have better luck with eBay Australia (It's a smaller market, and you can get more than a typical US selling price)

Cheers

$430 is a bit high for an 8700g. I can go to just about any local store here is get one brand new at retail prices for about that.

I have sold quite a few of these units to BlackBerry users in the USA. You cannot get an unbranded 8700G in the USA. Different carriers sell different versions and it is commonly agreed that the 8700G is the best looking 8700 series model.

Typically, when you buy a device in the USA, they are contracted and locked to a provider. Mine are unlocked by default and also do not carry any terms or condtions. You can use any SIM with any provider of your choice.

I sell these in Australia too but as there is a market for these in the USA, I thought I would help out people who want an unbranded unit.

The first batch I sold on these forums a few months ago were $660USD. More recently, the price was $500 and now $430 is the lowest price I have ever offered on this model.

good luck on selling it but I haven't seen them go above $250 elsewhere.

I wish you the best, but unlocking services are fairly inexpensive now for the 8700, and the branding is not that big of a deal to most people. I just got a brand new 8700c and had it unlocked, all for less than $210.

Anyone?

Forget about the logo/branding, functionally, is there a difference between an unlocked unit vs. a unit that has never been locked from the beginning? Is there going to be an residual from an unlocked unit that will make funny behavior on other carriers other than the original?
