Is there a way to tag people in a facebook status without checking in?

On my android, I could justtype @ and then a list would come withthe names (like the BB twitter app does). Is there a way to do it om berry?

I'm running the newest fb app (I think its 2.0.0.27 or something like that (off the top of my head.)

No, the FB app doesn't tag. I always go to the mobile site to tag people.

Actually, I can't seem to tag anyone in the mobile site either... I just press @ and start typing the name but I get not option to select a person or something. Am I missing something?
