Hi,

I looked through various API's and didn't see a way of getting the BlackBerry's phone number. It must be possible... Does anybody have any ideas?

The phone numbe on the actual unit? Just hit the space bar.....

I know what the unit's number is, but inside of a program what functions do I call into what libraries (API's) to discover that number?

if you find what your looking for let me know! from all the research i have done tho theres no way of getting it! I have created a persistent store that gets the app user to enter the phone number and stores it for retrival @ a later date. its easy to get the device pin but i would MUCH rather teh MSISDN/IMSI so if you come up with a possible solution let me know!!

You can get the device phone number by using the API net.rim.blackberry.api.phone.Phone

The method is getDevicePhoneNumber(true).

But these API's are in signed category.

Caveat - This method is new to v4.1 so it won't (at this point) run on most devices.

If you are targeting the 8700x, you are good to go.
