Default 9900 charging problem

Please Login to Remove!

Whenever I try to charge my 9900 with other chargers than an original (from the 9900 or 9800) BlackBerry charger, I get following message:

The charging source connected to your Blackberry device cannot charge your battery

Following chargers I tried and they give me the message:
- iPad (original charger)
- HyperJuice Mini
- Griffin PowerJolt Dual

All above chargers can charge an iPad, which needs more power for charging than regular smartphones.
Any idea why the 9900 gives me this message? Is there anything which can be done about it?

You just have to use an approved charger.

Yes, use the correct charger. BlackBerry's are not the only devices which require specific USB chargers. Many other devices also require their own specific charger. Voltages vary from one to another.

Yeah, this kinda sucks... I bought one of those dual USB chargers to charge my iPod and BB at the same time. BB at the time was the 9360 and worked fine... now it's useless!

Can anybody confirm after using the original car charger it can solve the problem? How about charging using usb via pc/notebook? At the moment I'm facing the same problem.

I hv tried charge using ori cabel but use aftermarket connector for charging in the car, but also can't charging the batery.

best for charging is 0.5A, I'm using from NOKIA, cause original 0,75A is too fast for that battery and it's drain faster.

Ummmm NO! RIM supplies us with the 750ma charger on the 99xx series, which is much lower than even an original RIM car charger. This is exactly what you should use, as per manufacturer's specifications. It's when people start using other flavor chargers that they risk phone/battery damage and /or poor charging.
