I have a little yellow folder with a 1 next to it on the upper right portion of my home screen. It is to the right of the battery indicator, below the EDGE. On the folder there is a red up arrow.

It is not an email notification, nor do I think it is a voice notice. I have no idea what it is telling me.

Could this be it? Yesterday I emailed my self a document that I want to keep on the BB. I marked it as "Save." Could that be the icon to tell me I have one saved document?

No. You just saved the e-mail at best. It's probably pushed content from your browser.

Try Message > View Folder and check in there, or check under Browser > Options and clear your cookies/content.

You were correct, it was pushed content. I opened it up, and presto, the little folder is gone.
