I have this little ol' BES 4 server sitting in my basement with 200 user license on it... of which I am using, well 2 licenses. I have a 20 user BES at one of my offices as well, which hosts all my 12mile stuff... but I only have 11 people on it, including my everyday handheld.

I can't see myself paying for BES in the near future.

I suppose your own BES server would be ideal. But I don't care to maintain expensive hardware, nor purchase the necessary server licences, UPS hardware, etc.

At home I have a Compaq DL360 with SBS2003 (thanks AOS) running Exchange 2003. I have a Compaq 1850R with Windows 2003 (thanks MS) with BES 4.

Some of the perks of being a manager at a large computer store are free goodies from vendors... I have an entire closet dedicated to computer apparel. The servers came from a a repo/auction house and from ebay, all dirt cheap. Replacement/spare drives came from my friends at AOS (don't ask).

I also have dual internet feeds at home, all running through a symantec router... nothing fancy, but somewhat reliable in the boonies where I live, 1 connection to cable company, 1 connection to phone company.

Nothing at my house is production, all testing and stuff.

I signed up with Mailstreet some time ago. It was painless and it works well with no hassles. There may be cheaper services out there, but my attitude is is it aint broke - don't fix it.

I've tried Mailstreet and exchangemymail but both had connection issues and support had the attitude that nothing was ever wrong with their system.
I found http://www.enomia.com and am happy so far.

I've used 1and1.com (No BES though) and switched to Exchangemymail.com when I got the BB. Awesome service!! I highly recommend them.

bthom, I'm surprised you had a problem with support at exchangemymail. They've been extremely helpful for me and respond very quick. Maybe they've improved their service?

Link2Exchange is excellent. We have 4 users on at my work and have many other clients using there service.

I've personally never had problems with MailStreet. Haven't tried any other hosted BES services as it's a bit of trouble to switch.

SO many positive responses about exchangemymail on several different threads.. yet an email that I sent on Thursday evening to their support email requesting information on setup has not yet been answered over 24 hours later.

Is their response time consistently quick or are there inconsistensies? Usually I would run from a service provider that doesn't offer at least next day response to their emails. The other service providers I emailed all responded inside of 12 hours. Exchangemymail was the one that I was ready to sign up with but now it seems to have moved to the bottom of the heap. The people at link2exchange and mailstreet seem to be very much on their toes.

I figure I'll give exchangemymail the benefit of the doubt that this is an unusual response time, but I'm definitely not as convinced as I once was after reading all of the reviews of all of the different providers. I'm going to take my time a bit more before deciding on who to go with, personally.

I used to be with ExchangeMyMail, but switched to Link2Exchange for two reasons: they helped me get synced with Mail, iCal and Address Book on my Mac, and they have 24 hour phone support. More than once I have had to call in on the weekend to reacvitvate after an OS upgrade, and they are always there, ready to help. It's just my two cents, but I would go with L2E.

I'm in the market for BES hosting. Two weeks ago I emailed MailStreet, ExchangeMyMail and a couple of UK providers with a simple pre-sales query.

The only reply was from BT who just poll, not push.

From the others, zilch.
