Hi I have a simple newbie question - I attended a RIM Event and received the new BB 8800, I am a verizon customer, if I were able to get the phone unlocked would there be any way to get the phone to work on the Verizon network? Thanks

Current 8800 is a GSM-based device and since Verizon runs off a CDMA-based network, unfortunately there wouldn't be any way to do this. That's not to say that Verizon's equivalent won't come out down the road, but I'd guess the model you have is what's currently out now.

Ok - thanks for the confirmation - that is what I figured. I guess I will have to find the device a new home.

Most the time you get them from the Cingular rep. Not just any rep but one who is in the district where the party is being held. Alot of the tickets go to to corp base but if you can get hold of the guy with the tickets, you are in luck!
