Default 7250 BlackBerryOS 4.0.0.329 (Apps 4.0.0.259) NOW OUT for CDMA 7250 devices -- Sprint

Please Login to Remove!

Sprint released BlackBerryOS 4.0.0.329 (Apps 4.0.0.259) for model 7250
https://www.blackberry.com/SoftwareD...ient=URNZcPHMm

This should work on Verizon and Bell Mobility MODEL 7250 devices.

One interesting question is: Does this firmware enable EVDO BROADBAND MODEM capability on the Verizon 7250?

Can someone verify that this works on the Verizon 7250 Models? I'm expecting my 7250 as soon as FedEx get's here anytime now and would like to upgrade it with this if it works.

Historically, Sprint/Verizon/Bell Mobility upgrades has always worked on each other's like models, when installed according to instructions and removing the VENDOR.XML file. I'd be surprised if it didn't work.

Of course, this is an upgrade done at your own risk.

If you install the Desktop Manager, you get the drivers. Install 4.0 SP1, but it looks like the ones on the 7250 are disabled.

We have also installed the Sprint version on some of our Verizon 7250's, haven't noticed a difference though.

oh well. perhaps the next version, eh?

Is there a "How to upgrade using Sprint code on a Verizon device for dummies" thread around here anywhere. I would love to upgrade to the new OS but I am a BB neophyte and don't have a clue to all of the nuances associated with using one carriers upgrade on another carriers device.

Thanks in advance.

The "How to upgrade" instructions are in the sticky thread at the top of "RIM Software" forum. Alternatively, click my FAQ below and then click "BlackBerry OS Upgrade HOWTO".

Mainly, the only added step is simply deleting VENDOR.XML after installing the software onto the PC, but before launching BlackBerry Desktop.

Wirelessly posted (7250: BlackBerry7250/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

Works fine so far on my 7250 with Bell Mobility. No indication if EVDO enabled (yes I realize it may not be publicly available in Toronto yet).

How is sound quality? In particular to the party you call. This was a problem with prior software, especially with Bluetooth. I heard that it fixed some of these problems and wondered if your experience confirms this.

i noticed no difference in sound quality over the earthlink version. (which is better than the verizon software that came installed).

I did experience a lockup or 2, and some corrupt service book issues that were only fixed by a security wipe.

I went back to the earthlink version, which seems much more stable.

Does this upgrade enable EVDO for the Sprint 7250?

I installed the upgrade on my Bell 7250. It works fine except it trashed every password and all program preferences in the process

It's easy:
1. download the program from sprint
2. run the program
3. delete the vendor.xml file (use search to find it)
4. run app loader from the desktop manager program

Hot Damn! your on the cutting edge now!

What problems did you experience?
