This loaded up on my 7100i just fine. No issues at all with it........except the lack of people to talk to.

Load it and try, the worst that should happen is that it wont work and you have to delete it. Where are you to begin with? BTW just to be on the safe side I would backup before I did this (For me normal behavior before I Install anything at all).

Finally error found: Status of GT Buddies won't show on BB.

Possible factors: 1. I have two Gmail acount (one for family, the other for work)
2. I have renamed the buddies to differentiate buddy groups

Problem: The family account has no flaw at all. The work account lately showed no status of my buddies.

Experient done:
1. log in to the Family Account at home PC, and use Work Account on BB
2. Invited my Family Account from Work Account on BB, and confirm
3. On BB, the status of Family Account won't change -- remained "off", however
4. on the Home PC, I can see Work Account is on-line through Family Account

Folks out there, anyone can figure out what might have gone wrong?

I've just loaded GT onto my 8700 and love it but someone stated that if you chat on your phone that the chat would continue on the desktop client as well and vice versa...

Mine doesnt seem to do that and I would like to know if I read that wrong or if there is a setting I'm missing somewhere to enable that feature as I'd love to be able to seamlessly pick up a conversation from my desktop from my phone and have the history right there already

Any ideas?

srl7741 mention something like that to me a week ago. Something about being logged on in the BB and on the desktop but when you reply from the BB you don't see the reply on the desktop.

Incorrect assumption.

The correct fact is "The free software on TMobile BlackBerry charges for text messages; you need to download and install another brand of chat software so that it uses data instead of text messages".

It is a software-speicific. Some brands of IM software do not use text messages, no matter which carrier you are on.

If you do not want to be charged for text messages, do not use the free software included with tmobile, it uses text messages. T-Mobile's custom YIM software uses text messages.

Download third-party software instead; such as Google Talk. The BlackBerry branded chat software downloads from www.rim.com and www.blackberry.com are guaranteed to use data instead of text messages.

- I am getting this problem too. I've checked my user name and password on Gtalk on my desk top and they are correct, and the requisite service books seem to be loaded, so not sure what to do. Any guidance/advice? Thx in advance.
