Default Can I connect a berry from another network?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

We are setting up a new office in Singapore, with our head office based in the UK. Is it possible to configure a Singapore based Blackberry (i.e with a local singapore number) to our BES in the UK?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

MCBlueberry

Where is the Singapore user's mailbox located? Singapore or UK?

UK.

We've been taliking to Singtel who seem to think it's possible. Vodfone UK are noncommittal.

I would just like to say ...

NJ doesn't manage a single BES and with 1 question and 3 words he was able to provide an answer that most people here can't come to after a page of discussion.

Why waste words. As Groucho Marx said in "Duck Soup"

AMBASSADOR TRENTINO: I'm a man of few words....
RUFUS T. FIREFLY: I'm a man of one word -- SCRAM!

Why manage BES when I can pay a multi national company loads to do it for me?

In that case, would anyone else like to offer an opinion. Happy to provide any further information that is required.

To recap:

We are running 1 BES and 1 Exchange server both based in our datacentre in the UK. The Network is provisioned by Vodafone UK. I'd like to know if we can purchase a Blackberry and SIM from Singapore and configure it to our BES. The reason being is that our sales team in Singapore want local Singapore numbers, not UK ones.

Cheers

Yes, this works (also three words). We have a client with an Exchange Cluster and two BES based in Switzerland (connected through the national carrier Swisscom). We connected Blackberries from CSL Hong Kong to those BES servers with no issues.

The only thing you need is a BES data plan. The BES is carrier agnostic.

I'm going to go ahead and say it won't work.

Only because I love watching this thread moved up to the top of the forum for absolutely no new information.

Happy Friday!
