For this one particular user i've deleted him off the Bes server and re-added him because i can't seem to initialise the account. (been trying for 2 days)

I've directly plugged the blackberry 8707g into the Bes server but can't seem to assign him the phone as suggested. It gives me the following error.

"An error occured while assigning the device to the user"
The user is not yet known to the blackberry agent. It can take several minutes for a newly added user to be fully initialised by the server before they can be provisioned (16)"

I've tested the phone with another newly created account and it works straight away.

Does anyone know why this is the case?

Read these:

The user is not yet known to the BlackBerry Agent

Unable to assign device using BlackBerry Manager

Is BES installed on Exchange? On a Domain Controller? Is this user a regular domain user or does it have any special privs?

Thanks, I've had a look a those articles but can't seem to solve the problem either.

Bes and exchange are on 2 separate servers.
On the Bes server you can can add the user as it searches all the mailbox's on the domain
Sorry not too familiar with it as i just "fell" into the role.

I've also just added another email as a test who has the same admin access as me and he also can't be added to the blackberry.

In the Bes server everything is set to default.

In Exchange i don't think there is any special group.
(also testing it with an admin account in exchange and having the same problem)

Default BES activation email problem

Here is my situation:
I'm trying to activate a bb pearl.

I add the user from ADS in BES Manager. Send a activation email to the user. she starts the activation process from the device using the username password and it keeps showing the message activating for username ...

there is no etp.dat attachment email in her inbox. Although I can see on barracuda that the email from [email address] has been delivered to the server(exchange 2003)

now, i forward her emails to her personal account (something like yahoo email) along with delivery in her mailbox. The email shows up in the yahoo account but not in her exchange inbox.

there is no issues like email going into junk folders. we have verified all that.
I have no idea where is that email going once it allowed by barracuda.

appreciate any of your comments.
