Default Is your Torch branded? Mine's not...

Please Login to Remove!

I just noticed today that my Torch doesn't have any carrier branding. I bought it from Rogers Wireless [store] directly. Sorry for the fuzzy quality (webcam). I have "BlackBerry", but no "Rogers"... anyone else?

No concern, just curious

Interesting. I'm curious too. Was it sold to you as brand new, or was it sold as a refurb? You probably see the carrier splash screen on booting, right? Just curious.

I suspect this is the case, though it will be the first Rogers Blackberry I've owned without branding on it!

Aiharkness- it was purchased brand new, and Rogers is on the splash screen

One would wonder why. Maybe they are not sure they want to carry it or a new model will be out soon.

Or it could be there wasn't any room for the Brand on the front.

That was my first assumption, but looks like AT&T managed to squeeze one on.

The placement is a little ugly, so I don't mind

the little AT&T logo on the crome is a bit ugly, it can be removed with a penny with out scratching the crome. It could also void warranty.

I have heard rumors that the canadian ones were not branded due to time to ship and such. Mine is on Telus and it too came unlocked from day one. This also seems to be a canadian thing from reading other forums and RSS feeds..

I'd support that, since Rogers stores were getting displays but no models...something obviously happened shortly before release. Like I said though, the AT&T branding placement is pretty ugly, so I'm not exactly going to shed a tear

I'd say it's true.

We got a case of 12 at work directly from RIM. All Rogers boxes (RIM packages the device for the provider) and none of them say Rogers on them.

Don't worry though, they're locked to the provider still. :P
