Default Install Snap on your BB10 Device

Please Login to Remove!

If you've upgraded to OS 10.2.1.x on your BB10 device you can now install any free Android app directly to your BB10 smartphone directly without any special converting and without the need to connect to your PC. This opens up BB10 to the thousands of Android apps available in the Google Play store. However, you need an app to quickly search for and install these Android apps.

The best app available so far is called Snap. Unfortunately, Snap can't be installed directly to the device since it's a native BlackBerry app and is not yet available in the BlackBerry App Store. However, it can be quickly loaded to your BB10 device using your PC.

Here is a quick and easy way of installing Snap on your BB10 device using your PC. Once Snap is installed on your device you won't need your computer to install Android apps on your device!

1. Download Sachesi for Windows 32bit here:

Sachesi

2. Download Snap from here:

Snap - Red Light Of Love, Ltd.

3. Connect your BB with the USB cable.

4. Double click on the Sachesi app you downloaded.

5. When it opens, click the "Install" tab.

6. Drag the Snap bar filed you downloaded in step 2 into the box under the install tab. As soon as you drop the file it will load to the device.

7. That's it. You can disconnect and enjoy direct downloading of Android apps on your BB10 device.

Note: Not all Android apps will run on the BB10 and, occasionally, an app will not work quite as expected. However, the vast majority do run normally.

Most new usable apk Apps on the Google store require Android KitKat level or higher. One is GM OnStar which no longer works on any BB that cannot be updated to KitKat level or higher like mine ( Z10). Blackberry has not updated any phones except the latest releases. Keyone DTEX 50,60 and Priv are probably the only ones they will continue to update. If the app will work on older android releases then your very lucky.
A simple update would fix the older BB phones but they requires work by BB developers and that wont be happening.

Yeah, and Snap no longer even logs in so I was curious about the post above. The only apk store for BB10 is Amazon and I would bet it won't work for much longer either. BB World is slated for end of life at the end of 2019, if I recall.

What is weird is the new company that purchased the BB phone business seems to be non existent and I would think they would be doing more to support all the BB phones and keep customers. Doing simple updates and offering new apps would be good. If they think they will sell and ignore older versions they a sadly mistaken. People look at the new phones out there and there is virtually zero ads anywhere for Blackberry. Keeping a loyal customer base is vital.
Android wont do it .

TCL who now makes the phones supposedly agreed to make the phones in Mexico but rumors still float that they are really made in China

Look at the flip side inside of the new phones and most people will see that it says Made in Mexico. The Washington Times has a fascinating report stating the reason why. Some users may already know, but RIM has purposely avoided having its products manufactured in China because of security concerns. RIM did announce its intention to set up a R&D center in Indonesia.

Is Snap from a time before it was known how to install PlayStore on BB10?

Its not just theft and backdoors, companies also need to be concerned about recycled parts making their way into new machines: an almost-correct chip and a slightly worn capacitor will probably pass most tests, but they could bring down a machine in the future.

Only the latest Blackberry's running the latest Android OS can access Google playstore

None running OS10 or earlier will be able to use Google Playstore

I'm still amazed that the new company that purchased the BB phone rights is not doing ANY support for older phones except the latest releases. Someone in that company have their head in the sand ( or up their you know what ) if they think people will simply buy a new phone when an app does not work or update.
