Default Memory Dump

Anyone having problems with the Pearl losing memory (memory dump)? I'm wading through the back posts, but haven't found anything yet.

Mine does it too. I started a thread on it a couple weeks ago and didn't really get a lot of answers. I close all my apps delete all my messages and it still loses memory. Last time I started with 28mb after a battery pull (17mb before the pull) and it's about 23mb now. I don't really understand it yet.

I was thinking of wiping the device, uninstalling the games and then reloading the OS. What do you think?

Have you tried letting it re-boot once a day? I have mine set to turn itself off like 3:50am and turn itself back on at 4am. That way it re-starts itself once a day, while I am asleep. I have heard the RIM software has memory leaks, so re-starting the berry once in a while lets it "re-claim" it. You can set that under Auto on and off under options.

That does not 'restart' the phone. That just shuts off the wireless signal and puts it to sleep. The only way to restart the phone is to pull the battery.

I'll have my user give that a try. Thanks! Still, it's odd that this is happening. This device is two weeks old.

I think its a common issue. Mine erases text messages by itself, but it hasn't done it in a while. I try to pull the batt every so often to reset it. Hopefully a new firmware will fix it in the future.

Wouldn't an OS update to the newest fix this issue?
