tateu,

Unfortunately your modification doesn't fix my issue.

The backlight stays on when on external power like it should until the device locks (per my pushed security setting in 10 minutes). Once it locks the backlight cycles on and off (it looks like it does that at the polling interval). If I manually lock the device the backlight starts to cycle in a similar fashion.

So when my bb is locked bblight does not keep the backlight on when it is connected to external power like it should (it cycles) and bblight, when keeping the backlight on, does not keep the bb from locking (which is behavior that I would like).

I really appreciate you putting time into this.

Thanks,
SMF

Great update to another great app! Thanks Mr. Tateu!!! I've edited the main sticky with this download and a link to your post with instructions. Excellent work! You added some features that have been asked for many times. I'm sure Jack is a fan for life!

I second that!

(It also helps to be persistent... I know I was getting on your nerves a bit on that) )

THX... Happened to come to the same conclusion myself but I appreciate the prompt reply & suggestion.

Yes, I just noticed that "Activate on Startup" does not work. I'll look into it.

There is an application called 'SMS Display ON' availible for $3 that allows you to switch on the Display when a SMS is received. You can even set the number of seconds the display should be on!

I also wanted the phones screen to kick on when I receive a text message. So I tried tateus app and it works like a charm on my 8330.

THANKS SO MUCH

I downloaded SMS Display ON and it works like a charm. Note that from now until Tuesday it's also a dollar off and is now the ultra low price of $2.

Wow, I just looked at my calendar and realized I had the date all wrong haha. There's still a week left in the promotion, my bad. I'll go ahead and start a new thread about it now.

This is nice to know.
All that searching and I never found that site. I'll get it just to have it for that price, but I will still use the BBLights as after all I talked tateu into redoing the code for me and others, PLUS this is FREE!

Once again I thank tateu for taking the time to do that!

... and thank you murene for the link.

Has anyone noticed an issue with a constant red led indicator after installing bblight? After I installed and selected to turn on for SMS, my red led indicator light is flashing and I have no unread messages.

It's super annoying, I'm prolly gunna uninstall.

i battery pulled and it seems ok for now...but it's only been a couple minutes..

One thing I wanted to ask was if you could put in an option for bb messager to light up the screen..not just sms or email.

A lot of times, I have phone laying on the computer desk where I can't see the tiny status light blinking or the vibration, so that would be real handy. You say, well you can hear it can't you. First, I'm deaf, so no, I can't hear it and I depend on text mail. Second, there are times you have to have the sound off, like if your in Starbucks or library. In those places the BB which is being used as a modem, is on the table next to the laptop. So again, I don't see the tiny status light when someone texts.
