Googling my very first BES issue is how I found this forum .
Considering you have to wait for a reply, no one should not have time to do a quick search. A hasty admin is a poor admin, if you ask me.

This thread is the reason I always search first and start my post by saying "tried searching and did not find anything" etc.
But agreed, usually searching is faster than waiting for a response so it only makes sense to search first.

The failure to assign an appropriate subject tag to a new thread has got to be the worst... it's like forum spam... should I open it or is it just another male enhancement ad? I fear this annoys me more than someone who may not have searched, but is at least articulate enough to get their point across without having to ask them 10 questions just to get the problem straight.
I am a HUGE fan of the mouse-over feature to preview the first several words of a post.
I think my favorite, and most accurate post was someone whose subject line read; "Sorry, no time to search!" Accurate... but lame. You can imagine the wise-cracks that one got!

Thanks for bringing the thread back. Maybe people will learn to SEARCH and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS before throwing their hands up and screaming Help me! Help me!
Speaking of following directions, ya'll will love this one.
Not only am I BES Admin, I am also Cell Phone Admin. (850+ cell phones) I have the account locked down so that no changes can be made with the provider's T-Support unless you have the password; and I'm not giving it out. Therefore, my folks needs to call me for assistance and I'll get the service provider on the phone.
One of my users knows this, but still tries to get around me to get what she wants. Recently she asked how to remove a certain feature from her phone (downloaded app) and I e-mailed her the step-by-step directions on how to do it. (Media, Options, Cancel) Not more than a hour later, I get a call from the provider's T-Support asking if she is allowed to do this. I get them to link her in as she is on hold on the other line. When I asked her why she didn't follow the directions I had previously sent, her reply (and this is a direct quote) "I don't know how to follow directions." HUH?
Not only did I have to ask her to repeat to be sure that I understood her (which I did) the provider's T-Support started laughing at her.
Me: I'm sorry... did you say that you don't know how to follow directions?
User: Yes
T-Support: *snicker* OMG!
Let this be a lesson.... follow directions and SEARCH first, do research and THEN post your question if you can't find the answer. Otherwise, we'll laugh at you and flatulate in your general direction. *SHEESH*

I just want to let you know that I have searched and found what I was looking for tinyurl.com/dzfoew (it won't let me post a link because I don't have 10 points... what's up with that!)
I cruise this forum all the time and absolutely love it. Keep up the good work all...

Before you post a question please do a SEARCH! Either here on the forums or on BlackBerry T-Support. Do a little legwork first and before you take the lazy way out!
Sheesh!

not for nothing, but the search feature isn't all that intelligent ....
don't forums delete old posts ? if a thread has been dormant for more than 6 months, i think it should be deleted to make room for more. there are always stickies that the mods can use to pin frequently referenced threads

Use an advanced search, and choose date range.

For those that don't like the inbuilt search try this
Search using Google

Interesting thread. My BES works great no issues
Just works. We use Novell Groupwise 7. Works very well with BES.
But will keep that in mind before posting a question.

If there were more people like you then this forum would have 50% less posts at least.
