Default Ea

I don't have to worry about that - the Desktop Manager on my other computer will push an EA when it sees the unactivated BlackBerry. Either that or it's not a big deal to request the Help Desk to generate an EA password - we're the same department and we sometimes have to wipe/reactivate our BlackBerries when we're troubleshooting.

d_fisher: Thanks for creating this, and for your support to us users. I had a replacement BB8830 shipped to me w/ an IT security policy in place (Firewall was enabled and locked). Using JL_Cmder I wiped out the old policy easily. I then restored from backup. The only 'hitch' I encountered was that the 'radio' was turned off by default. Consequently email and the browser didn't work. As soon as I attempted to make a call, I was prompted to turn it back on, and the email & browser functioned. THANK YOU!!!

I LOVE this program. I just used to kill off theme prototye ( Rolf Small 3 ) that somehow become uninstallable. It was stuck there for months after I changed it into offical Rolf Small theme.

Default Help for us NOOBs

I was too much of a dolt to figure out how to get JL_Cmder to run, but I found an easier to use application (with a friendly interface for stupid people like me) that can reset to factory settings (and a lot of others things too), including providing an interface for running JL_Cmder: "BlackBerry Master Control Program."

I don't have enough posts to allow me to post the URL, but you can search for the title above and find it easily, or paste this in your address bar: mcpfx.com/download.php?list.2

The usual caveats: Use at your own risk!

Thumbs up Jl_cmder

Doug

Thankyou very much you are a star. After spending hours on the phone to my service provider O2 I have finally got the browsing on my phone working with the removal of the IT Policy.

I really appreciate your app!

What are you trying to accomplish? Your issue sounds like a computer/usb port issue not a device/JLCmder issue.

ive been trying to wipe it. i have the reload software 552 error and all of the other possible troubleshooting steps from VZW/RIM and online that ive seen have been exhausted and i get a fatal error when trying to reinstall OS so i have been trying ti wipe it. the usb port is the same port ive always used and the cable works in DM and apploader but for some reason is not working in JLcmder. i tried using the command line and opening it with -u wipe but that didnt help either.

when i try using apploader instead, everytime it detects the device, the device has been resetting itself. this happens when i tried using apploader with the /nojvm command line. when i try using it normally i am able to get through and up until it tries to reinstall eveyrthing and then it gets a fatal error or unspecified error.

There are other issues. Even if you manage to wipe it with JL Cmder you may still have the same problem. Its actually very rare that you should need to wipe with jlcmder. However, I would try a different usb port, unplug any other usb devices from the computer and make sure Desktop Manager and device manager aren't running. Also, you might try a different computer.

d_fisher, Thanks again for this app. Wiped a Storm that had been run over by a truck today. Nice & simple, and it just plain works. Kudos.

This program works great on my 8320 to reset it back to factory setting. I bought it used password can't be disabled. Run restore factory setting without losing the pre-installed apps. But you do have back it the phone data with BB manager before running the JL CMD. Screenshoot is cool.
