It works when I use my 7250. No BB Data Plan required. I mean I know it SUPPOSED to be required, but if it works without it, more power to you.

Oh.. my experience with Sprint.. let me tell you!!

So last night when I called I was told that a data plan was only $20 if I wasnt going to tether it or if my company didnt have a BES server. I wont and we dont. So today I pick upmy BB. I added a line to get it for $150, and dropped everything off my A900.. messaging, insurance, etc and switched from my 900 minute package to a family share 1400 minute plus added text, and insurance. They said with no need for a tether and BES, it was only a $15 vision package. What a deal!!

So I notice the icon I am to expect to appear never does. So a call to customer support I make. Yes, I did have the 1400 minute package. AND a 900 minute package. BOTH. And my BB had NO insurance, text, or web package. So she went ahead and added it. Then she said she didnt see a $15 vision package available for my phone so she said she seen a $5 vision package that was just unlimited web, no bells and whistles. $5?? SWEET!! I will take it!!

After no internet for 20 minutes and she said it was instant, I decided to go to a Sprint store down the street from me, not the one across town I bought from (I was by it for work). So I walk in and there were 3 people behind the counter. I said with a laugh ""I feel stupid, I am a IT guy and cant get on the internet". Well sure, we can help! Umm.. what icon? Oh THAT icon. Umm.. dont see it (wow..genius). So he calls BB tech support. They are on the phone.. he is texting away on his Treo.. and he talks crap. They start laughing about my situation and I say "So glad you see the humor in this". Guy puffs up (all 150lbs of him) and says "you aint got to be loud homie". Did I mention its a rather good neighborhood? Our cops actually have 2 Segway scooters. Its the Beaches.. we arent ghetto. He asks me if I want to talk to them. Well DUH!! So I get on the phone with CS and she says I can get a $40 5mb package or a $50 unlimited. I say "in the current flyer its $40 unlimited". She says yes, with new activation. Umm.. this IS a new activation. She says with a 2 year agreement.. I said it IS a 2 year agreement I signed 5 hours earlier. The WHOLE time this scrawny black kid is steady talkin crap to this big black coworker woman. "Must be a full moon out" "is it friday the 13th" "people think they somebody". I was shaking. I am 6'2"/270 and it took all I had not to jump the counter and knock the crap out of this punk. So in the end.. yep, charged $50 even thought the flyer says $40.

Yeah.. I love Sprint.. and yeah.. when a better BB coms out with another carrier I will be jumping to them.

There's no need to go the store. Just call *2.

Unlimited BB on Sprint with a 2 year agreement is $39.99. CSR doesn't know what they were talking about. Includes unlimited tethering as well.

Sprint Sero is $30 for 500 minutes and unlimited EVDO data (Powervision). Grab a Moto Q for $99 and you'll be able to synch wirelessly with your Exchange, play Sirius Satellite and run full motion video over Slingbox. Did I mention you get all that plus 500 minutes for only $30....

...and if you work it right you can get 6pm nw and 500 free text.

I looked at the Moto Q but from what I read it didnt hold a candle to the BB. But lord knows it would be a WAY cheaper route!!

The Moto Q is clunky and awkward for emailing (no shortcut keys). However if your email needs are light, there are many additional apps available for the Q versus the BB.

Don't get me wrong, the BB is still my main work device. When I'm out of the house, I'm more often using my Q to watch TV (free via Slingbox) or listen to Sirius (free so long as you have a Sirius login).

The kicker is that you have ZERO extra cost for data on this Sero plan.

If cost is your main and primary consideration, I do not know why anyone would pass up this deal...

How about the same (or better) BB with a better carrier?

one nice thing about sprint is that they do have the largest voice/data coverage so you can use you bb data plan in more areas. and by the end of 07/08 there will be at LEAST EVDO or better i.e. rev A in all sprint coverage areas for much faster speeds

D2NK,

What a nightmare! I left Sprint for similar CS reasons.

Most people hear this and don't think through it... Most people don't GO to more areas. So having a large network outside the major population centers, that means you get charged more per month to help finance, can be looked at as a bug vs a feature. If I, and most people, stay in the built-up areas 99% of the time, I don't need a large network.

Either way, sounds like Sprint™ still has some issues with CS.
