I just looked at the link above which is great and has given me better understanding but I was supprised to see that the Tour 9700 was not on the list of Blackberrys that were compatable with the new Skype app (or am I reading this wrong?)
Does anyone know how long after they make an announcement like this that it is usually available?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo...

OK, this is for Verizon Wireless only. They are a CDMA carrier in the USA.

There is no Tour 9700. The Tour is the 9630, which is in the article.

No one has any idea when this will be available, although several "knowledgable sources" said the beginning or March, which has come and past.

Contact your carrier (O2 according to your profile).
See what BlackBerrys they offer. Go to a shop and see them.

There is no Skype for the BlackBerry yet.
There is no Adobe Flash for the BlackBerry yet.

There is Verizon in the UK just fine. They just deal B2B and run possibly one of the biggest transit networks in the country. If Laura buys retail she would never hear about them. The guys she buys from though may know a thing or two about it.

That may be so, but they don't run an actual mobile network in the UK.
And that site pretty much states this.

They do. They just don't sell on the highstreet. They deal B2B. Just because they don't have shops around don't assume they don't exist. BT doesn't have shops around either, BT Cellnet (the consumer side) is loooong gone (now known as O2) but the business side of BT is live and kicking and has some millions of corporate cell subscribers, yet nobody would even call them a carrier since they don't have a nice corner shop with posters on the glass and little handsets on display.

Sorry, no Skype on BB. Not official, and haven't found "third party" ones that actually work either.

Sorry, what is B2B?
I know that BT exists as a carrier.

I looked at the site you posted, and found absolutely no where on it, mentioning mobile cellular services in the UK.
Only mentions the US.
