If any of you are having problems with your bberry being very slow and lagging after updating to .534, check out this thread below. Hopefully we find a solution.

Re: Latest 9700 software - 6.0.0.534
The new OS 6.0 is very good except Calendar. From OS 5.0 is better.
Is it possible the calendar from the software 5.0 switch to 6.0. ?
Thanks in advance !

Tried installing again (using the method that bypasses Desktop Manager) and it managed to push through the process. Had to manually restart the 9700 twice, but it finally made it. Interestingly, whenever I sync now, Desktop Manager 5.x wants to upgrade my unit's OS.
Thanks, Jim

That's because it wants to upgrade to the latest OS for your carrier, AT&T, even though that wouldn't be the latest version available which you now have.

Re: Latest 9700 software - 6.0.0.534
I installed this a few nights ago, and it's been working fine. Used the BB OS Shrinker and I have at least another 15mb free than before (~50 before and ~65mb after upgrade). Seems alot snappier than .448 and less memory leaks. I've gotten used to restarting my phone before when I wake up anyway, so that's no biggie.
And to the 1 post hero, It's funny how you say all your friends have had nothing but problems with their Blackberries. I've had 2 8100s, 1 8320, 1 8900, and now a 9700 and I've had no problems out of them, besides a broken screen on my 8320, which I replaced myself. People fear what they don't understand lol.

Re: Latest 9700 software - 6.0.0.534
I can't install it. Can anyone help me? I deleted the vendor file, but when I run the loader, it won't show the new system installation just my applications. I'm running WIN7. This is the first time in years that something like this happened to me. In past I could always easily install it.
Thank you very much

I don't have a BB data plan, and as I was reading through the forum, there's no way to get it working without it. Or is there?

It's fine... I have a 9700 from Orange UK and am running this version with no issues at all... Well, other than the fact that Orange 3G is crap since merger with T-Mobile!

this new version is horrid - double click for menu, no option to re-arrange or hide icon's...not impressed at all. It's wiped all my settings in each app. Never known of this happening on any other update before. Then again, the entire interface of the phone was always the same.
any help in undoing the update would be much appreciated.

I think blackberry phones on a WHOLE is a waste of time! these phones need to be changed on a yearly basis! honestly i dont know anyone who has had the same blackberry for more than a year! why???? cause something always goes wrong with it! mean their trackpad or scroll bad always goes bad! software updates are shitty!
I SWEAR! i dont know anyone that has a blackerry that has passed a year and has not had some soft of repair done to it! if all my friends weren't on bbm, honestly i would def change phones! blackberry is a waste of time phone!

mines just passing the year mark (had it May 2010) and so far so good. no intention on upgrading (assuming I'm able to undo this crappy update)

Re: Latest OS: 9700 6.0.0.2391/6.0.0.543 (Multilanguage)
I seem to be having significant problems with this release, including:
- Difficulty scrolling (for example, in the home screen & calendar applications)
- Inability to add Folders on the Home Screen (No Error Message but just does not add)
- Inability to change Theme despite installing all vendor themes (updated blackberry.alx) ... This took 4 reboots to get back but then...
- "App Error 602" when editing the theme & wallpaper. Required reboot.
- Very slow response times
This could be the blackberry itself is starting to go or from the operating system. I guess it's time to figure out if I wanna go to a Touch Screen BB or not.
