I just installed version 0.99.6.2 of BeamReader it was only 700 odd kb.

BeamReader seems ok I can zoom in and read PDF's quite easily. Of course I am not a real big PDF reader but it is nice to be able actually see a PDF on my BlackBerry. I haven't been able to try Repligo yet.

Yes, that appears to be quite a reduction in size from v0.99.6.1 (1.69 MB) to v0.99.6.2 (782 KB) -- the update is literally less than half the size of the previous beta version, reduced from thirty to eleven .cod files! I don't notice any changes or improvements in the functionality or user interface between the two versions.

The competition is definitely heating up!

I installed the latest beta and had little success with the program. Hopefully others are having better luck.

I read about the latest version.. I just want the PDF reader I don't need it to play music or anything else... besides 99.6.2 is smaller so I am gonna stick with this version. Haven't tried the new one. What type of problems are you having?

With BeamReader 0.99.7.2 (beta2) disables the ability to affectively use the "Set as home screen image". Normally, within the media application, if you open an image you have the option to zoom in/out and then use the adjusted image as your home screen image. With beta 2 the option to Set as home screen image after zooming in/out is unavailable.

I'll be downgrading to the previous beta version.

Whenever I open BeamReader it lags for about 30 seconds before it pulls up the directory. Is that normal?

I would say 30 seconds is not normal.

Mine lags for maybe 10 seconds...... I have a max of 24 MBs free but it drops pretty quickly.
