Default Activation Fails

Please Login to Remove!

Trying to re-activate a BB after doing a wipe. the logs shows.


[40000] (06/03 10:18:10.932):{0xA40} {xxx@xxx.com} FindDeviceSendTransaction: transaction not found in current device send list, Tag=60797

[40239] (06/03 10:18:35.510):{0x2454} {xxx@xxx.com} Still handled by desktop
[30160] (06/03 10:18:35.510):{0x2454} {xxx@xxx.com} GetDeviceId() did not return a PIN, PIN currently is not set for this user.
[40371] (06/03 10:18:35.510):{0x2454} {xxx@xxx.com} UserControl::HandleDatabaseChange - CalSyncState is empty

Things i have tried,

Activation for different user on that BB with same results
Running SQL Maitanence Jobs
Restarting Server
Wiping BB
etp.dat activation email gets to the users mailbox



Any other Ideas?

^^ This line likely indicates that BES thinks the device is still set up to use Desktop Redirector.

You should make sure that Desktop Redirector is not in use for this device. Uninstall it from the PC if it's still installed.
You might need to manually remove service books from the device afterwards, and then BES activation should go smoothly.

We never actually used a desktop redirector with this BB. It previously was activated on the same BES server, and then we had some issues with accessing the account. (We thought it was permissions). After a while, we gave up troubleshooting and deleted the old account on BES, and tried to start fresh with the wipe.

How can we tell if the device thinks it should use the Desktop Redirector?

Second, which service books should we remove? Wouldn't the wipe reset these back to the factory settings?

I just added more to the other post. Check it out. Are you getting Still handled by Desktop in your logs? If so, read the post. Odds are one of the sugestions will fix it.
