Hello all, I am brand new to this.. I have a friend who has given me their old phone. It is a 7100g I was wondering if anyone has tried to change service providers or "unlock" these for use w/ Alltel..

He had been on Cingular/AT&T.. I am Alltel....

Is this switchover painful? Will I still be able to use the phone for email purposes?

Unfortunately its not possible. Cingular and Alltel do not use the same type of network. Cingular uses sim cards, Altell does not.

Dang, Im really starting to dislike alltel more and more...
