Default Can't get GPS to work on my 8830 . .

Please Login to Remove!

My Alltel 8830 can't fing sattelites. I've tried everything I can think of, and have even replaced the device.
Is there a BES restriction that could be causing this in the IT policy? From what I understand All I should have to do is turn "Location" to "ON" in GPS under advanced settings, make sure that the application permissions are set to "Allow", and possibly reset the device. I've done these many, many times with no luck.
I'm trying Google Maps, BlackBerry Maps and Beyond411, and none of them work.

HELP!!!!

I *believe* the Alltel 8830 GPS may be locked out by the carrier. I know the Verizon is locked.

Make sure you are outside with an unobstructed view of the sky. You need an app such as BBMaps also. Locate yourself on the map and then turn on the GPS and let it find itself. It could take several minutes for the GPS to sync, depending up where it was last used.

Default I've only tried this from outside . .

From three different locations with an unobstructed view of the sky.

Thanks for the tip though.

No go on my Alltel 8830 with BB Maps.
Tried, and let it sit outside, but no go.
I guess they want us to pay Telenav.

Get telenav, they have a free trial. Mess around with the service for your free period and then cancel the service, but do not delete it from your BB. Your gps should work then with bb maps, or whatever you choose.
