Default Push applications wireless - install required

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I do have a probleme to install third party applications wireless (GoogleMaps). It worked with about 10 BBs und now it stucks. The status is "installation required". I disallowed all sw installions but the applications which are allowed. Download third party applications is allowed.

And it is really strange that a couple of BBs restarted multiple times after fooling around with the policies.

Any ideas???

thanks

I'm not too sure about the multiple restarts, but if any of the BB's had a different version of google maps on them prior to you trying to push it out wirelessly, it will remove the old version, but not install the new one and it will just sit there at install required.

If you manually install the same version that you have on the server, it will report "updated"

My opionion is that the wireless app push doesn't work. There are too many flaws and exceptions. It is designed to be used on new devices and not ever be modified.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/137)

The restarts are caused by the policy changes. I think it trys to install/uninstall the application on and on when I change the sw policy.

I configured a total new It and Sw policy today and tried to push googleMaps and a new downloaded Sw (opera mini). Opera was installed on the test BBs, google did not???

I tried a lot of tips today (reindexing; delete sw cache; ...). Did not work with google. I will try to use the sw config from opera with google. Let's see.
