Including shipping to the states, and all that, it is about $522 US. I dont know how bad I want it now, especially considering the O2 software is all thats out there, and I am concerned about it being kind of funky.

Anyone willing to take the leap?

It is more than that, the pound is strong these days.

317.24 GBP = 625.630 USD + shipping to the USA. (70 more pounds) The shipping in the auction is not the international price.

It will be funny if I paid $700 today and it launched with AT&T Monday for I dont know $350? lol Yeah, there is a chance it wont launch with AT&T anytime soon, but if I waited this long for this, Id rather hold out for affordable pricing.

If it makes you feel any better I just paid 400 pounds (uk) for the 8300 full price from vodafone onto my exisitng contract (I was not due an upgrade for another 7 months, so had no choice)

arrives in 3 days.

feel a bit annoyed, does it really cost them that much?

O2 have it for £300
but then add posting and unlocking comes to £350 say.

If there's still no word from AT&T by Monday, or at least something from BG about a launch in May. I'll just order from that scancom place! At this point I just want the device. I figure I'm gonna have to pay full retail from AT&T anyway, and who know's if they'll pull that crap where there only selling them to new customers the first week or so! Anyone have it from scancom yet?

How are they shipping? DHL?

I just learned that I will be in london on the 23rd, I am going to be very tempted to get one there and save shiping! I believe I can get the 17% VAT refunded as well since im a US citizen! (??)

I wanted to hold out for one with GPS though...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Just got FedEx tracking #. Customs delay at Newark. This is getting exciting. I guess ScanCom is for real. They shipped within 6 hours of my order. ShieldZone shield arrived yesterday from Utah. Red blackberry case and OEM skin arrived yesterday. It is all good.

O2 are definitely not charging £300 for the Curve, because i have had 2 from them, and its £210 & VAT (17.5% Tax). And the third i am getting is Free.

Unlocking is £10 + VAT (17.5% Tax)

But you are right the shipping is expensive.

Fedex reports that it is to be delivered today having cleared customs at 11:30 last night. The wait continues. Also waiting for unlock code.

Default Unlocking 8300

I just received my 8300 locked to O2 network. I am AT&T cutomer live in washington DC, and cannot fine any company that is willing to unlock it in 24 hours. The 2 companies that I called want 4 - 7 days.
Any faster service available?

I'd be interested to know how it turns out for you if you use gsmphonesource Avner. I emailed them today and asked about unlocking and they replied that they couldn't get an unlock code till 6/5. Something about because it was an international carrier's phone.
