looks like JiveTalk plans on charging users very soon...if you go to About JiveTalk--->press menu key--->Register

With JiveTalk looking like a finished product and with RIM delaying their release of AIM, MSN, ICQ, I'm left with a dilemma

We definitely plan to do this, though it will be after we end this beta phase.

Does that means you no longer accepting people to do beta testing?

I try out your earliest version.

Now since I am back in the Blackberry world, I try to e-mail you to get the latest version but you never reply back.

Oh well... :(

I hope it's not too much. I may buy it from you.

We're still accepting users. Sorry for the non-reply, but your email may have gotten lost in the queue.

Send me a IM and I'll shoot you the links, especially since you're the first person to reply to this long post.

Quick question...got an 8700c and I just upgraded to 4.2...so which version of jivetalk should I install? Non-Pearls, 4.1 or later?

Thanks in advance!

Also...any idea how much the program will cost once you get to that point?

What would be the cost? Will it be to buy or 1 year subscription?

If you have 4.2 you should use the Pearl or 4.2 OS build.

Got my email today and installed. It's working great. Any word on pricing? Just my two cents, but if it's anywhere near the $50 for IM+ I'll be going without an instant message program.

pricing has not been finalized yet, but it will be reasonable.

there will be both an annual subscription option and a 1-time perpetual licensing option.

Please, Please dont make it too expensive, the 50 bucks for IM+ is absurd! Like Chester if its too much i just wont be able to IM until i get to a computer i guess. Do the beta testers have to pay? or are you guys doing something like whoever is beta testing can use the app free of charge? That would be nice. I guess a guy can dream..lol...whatever you guys do with pricing keep us part time working, full time college student, minimum income guys in mind! ha.

kyububba--

Just wanted to let you know that I was able to install and use JiveTalk. Auto-Network config didn't work for me, but once I looked up what info to put in for APN, then I was good to go.

Haven't had a chance to really play with it yet (it's past my bed time here) but first impression is really good! Looks to be a kick ass program...can't wait to test it out!

If I select "View Chat History" from the buddy list, it takes forever if I have a long history, and I can't do anything else on the Pearl until it's done getting it, even switch to another application. A little annoying, but less than when I thought it was locking it up completely.

Any reason JiveTalk is not working since the network outage? It logs in but it show offline. Then I get the error Max Connections.

kyububba,

Can you resend me the link for OTA? I am going to upgrade my bb OS from 4.1 to 4.2. I concern it might wipe my BB so I need to have the OTA link handy.

Thanks!

Anyone notice an unusual battery drain running JiveTalk? I only have AIM configured and Idle time at 1 minute.

I know it kills my battery when I use it a lot thou.

Additionally, I wonder if BeeJive is going to charge an one-time fee on the program, or the monthly fees?

I would be willing to pay an one-time fee (up to US$30-40). However, I am not so sure if I would be willing to pay for the monthly fee on the product and service. However, I can say, I love the program so much.

I hope you decide to go against doing an annual subscription. I already doing annual subscription on my XM radio, cell phone, etc. I don't need another one otherwise I will loose track of what I am paying monthly.

If you decide to go on that route than I am gonna pass.

I rather pay a one time fee and that's it. So if you do that and the price is not too high, I will buy it from you.
