Might be time to reload the OS. As long as you've tried with another charged battery you can rule that out as the cause.

How do I upgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

You can use the OS from any carrier, as long as it's for your exact model. Just remember that important step of deleting the vendor.xml file.

You might also try a new battery. Sounds to me that might be the problem. Happened to me with my 9000 and a new OEM battery fixed it.

Good idea. The 9000s were prone to battery issues. I had to put a paper shim on the side of mine to keep it snug against the contacts. Seems the 9000 sometimes had heat issues, especially when charging, that caused the battery to swell slightly. When it cooled back down it didn't fit properly and didn't make fit snugly against the contacts. The paper shim did the trick.

I used a business card to keep it tight.

Keep in mind that you need a battery specifically for the BB 9000. I never trust eBay suppliers for something as critical to me as the cell phone. You always get what you pay for on eBay - you want cheap, you get cheap.
