Default HELP REQUIRED: what BBM needs to work?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have the BlackBerry Bold 9700, and I got it with BBM installed in it two weeks ago.

my questions is can I run the BBM with WIFI? or do I need some special connection?

If any one wants to test it with me ? give me your PIN or take mine to add and see if it works..

waiting ..

As long as you have a blackberry data plan (which is required to make it work) it will then work over wi-fi.

You need to contact your carrier (Orange) and have them add a BlackBerry data plan. It is a specific plan for BlackBerry devices, and it is the only way you can use BlackBerry Messenger.

And you have to pay for it.

ok I just called my Carrier and they told me about the package that I should but for 20$
which is 150MB for global internet

can you explain to me how the BlackBerry-to-BlackBerry messages work?
I mean does it work with MBytes?

I need to make sure I need this package and not another.

BBs use data. Exactly how much is determined by how what apps you have that use data.

BBM uses data to send short messages. Email also uses data as does surfing the web. It is impossible for anyone to tell you exactly how much you will use. BBM and email shouldn't use very much unless you send and receive a lot. Surfing and data intensive apps can use a lot.

150 MB might be a lot for some, not enough for others. For you I can't say.

Perhaps try it and see and if you are getting close to the limit, go to the next higher plan.

so it's not working like per message?
it's going per the length of time i am online on my bbm ?

I sure i am not using the plan for surfing
Just the BBM or Emails.. nothing more

so do you think 150MB is enough for a normal person ?
