Default Possessed Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

Greetings! My youngest brother has a Blackberry Pearl 8130. It works perfectly fine, but when he attempts to check his text messages, they will not appear. For example, when using the trackball, he can scroll anywhere on the screen and click on anything but when he attempts to click on the text message icon, it doesn't show his messages at all...it just stays on the home screen. What could possibly be causing it to perform the way that it is. Thanks so much in advance!

A few weeks ago, taking the battery out and putting it back in usually corrected the problem, but recently, taking the battery out and putting it back in doesn't help at all.

Will the trackball click on and open any other icon?

Yes, the trackball clicks on every icon except the text message icon.

What happens if he highlights the SMS icon and presses the Enter key?

I tried that as well...nothing happens. I just find it very odd that every icon can be selected except the message icon.

Is it the Messages icon or the SMS icon?

What happens if you go into Messages > Options > General Options and set SMS and Email to Combined. Can you see the SMS messages in the Messages folder?

If so, go back and change it to separate again and see what happens.
