Default BB Help

Please Login to Remove!

Hello people, First off I am completely new to Black Berry never used one before as I have the Iphone, but I bought a Storm 9500 for work use only, with the work number. the phone came from my brothers work brand new out of the box as it could not be sent back for some reasons. It was on Vodafone I paid for it to be unlocked to Orange so far all is well, I get incoming calls and out going calls, SMS etc. but I cant seem to get any access to the internet, first attempt was Facebook application and no joy, I checked Manage Connections

Mobile Network - Orange
Bluetooth - On

Services Status:

Mobile Voice - Avaliable
Connection - Mobile Network

Blackberry internet service:
Connection - not connected

Blackberry Enterprise server
Connection - not connection

mobile network - 3G

i havent signed up to BB Enterprise or BB internet service, do i need to do this with orange? i dont see why i cant just use it as a Pay As You phone to browse the internet etc.

Wondering if anyone could share some light with this phone and where i am going wrong?

Also any idea how i would add my Wireless connection at home to it?

Any help would be great

Regards
Justin

You need a BB data plan to use those RIM/data related apps. Obviously you did not research the device very much. Also read our FAQ. Here is a link to get you started: What do I need a Data Plan for? - BlackBerryFAQ

If you are going to use it on your company's BES, then you need the Enterprise or BES plan. If you plan to access your work email via POP or IMAP, then you need the personal or BIS plan. You would do that with your cell carrier.

There are a many people here on the Forum who have Orange and can provide you with more advice on their specific plans than I. Be patient.

As for wireless, the 9500 does not have WiFi capability.
