Hi is it possible to stop the 9700 automatically opening messages when I get them to my inbox?

I have the message envelope icon that flashes with the red asterisk when something comes in but when I click on it, it opens the latest one. I don't want it to do that. I want to get to see the index if you know what I mean?

Does this happen when you click the icon or when you take the device out of the holster?

Try messages/options/general options and change "auto open...." to "never". Might do the trick.
