Hi Guys,

Only had the 7100T a day, can people tell me;

If peopel send me emails to the blackberry that for example has a jpeg attached, does it only use say the 100kb (an example) for the email if you click view attachment where it downloads it or does it take up 100kb of your usage whether you view it or not. The reason I ask is because the online web client state its size at say 100kb and being a graphics agency I receive lots of pictures through email and I was hoping the blackberry only downloads the text intially giving you the choice to download which then it will use up that amount of bandwidth? for example if someone sent me a 20mb file would it try to download it of first say I have an email do I wish to download?

any one know? (sorry im new to the blackberry) thanks.

You will be viewing the cached portion of the attachment and that will be all that is actually on you device. as you move around the document to see other parts you will see it have to retrieve more. A 20 meg file will cause you problems with BWC cuz that is over most limits. You might want to look into a BES solution. Do a search on BES providers, there is a FAQ.

I have the BWC/BIS. You can open the message and read the text if there is text. If there isn't, you'll still only see the word attachment in brackets above and the file name(s) and file size(s) below. The attachment won't open until you explicitly highlight and click to open the attachment. If anything, you have to click too many times to get at the attachment and you can decide to ignore it if you want.
