Hi-

Just switched from BIS to BES to test some functionality (using SP5 and OS 4.5 on Curve)

1) Whenever I send an Item from the BB, it goes out fine and also gets copied in Sent Items on Both the Blackberry as well as Outlook, but, I also have a copy of the message in the Inbox of the Blackberry with a Check next to it. I thought this was a BIS only thing and I wont see it when I switch to BES but its there. How can I remove this so the Sent Mail is only in the Sent Items Folder and not the Inbox in the Blackberry

2) When I send something from my Outlook, it doesnt appear in Sent Items on my Blackberry. Any way to have this functionality?

3) If I read an email on the Desktop/Outlook, it still appears Unread in Blackberry

Or on the blackberry From the inbox. Options change the "hide sent messages" to yes

On the bes Server goto the properties of the username, select the redirection tab. Select choose folders and tick sent items.

Email reconcilation is not straight away what happens if you click reconcile now on the blackberry does it update then.


Or you could use the search function in the forum to find the answers.

2) Done- lets see how it works out

3) Tried to Search and implement some suggested solutions but mail being read or deleted by Outlook on the Desktop doesnt change the status to unread or get removed on the BB.

Ok cool- Sent Items now appear on the BB when sent from my Desktop.

Last thing left is the Syncing of items deleted or read from the Desktop. When I do a Reconcile, the Status of Messages (Read/Unread) gets corrected but the deleted mail from the desktop doesnt disappear from the BB

In order for the mails to be deleted from the blackberry the mail needs to be in the deleted items folder when the reconcilation takes place.

If you are using outlook set the following option.
Tools > Options > Other and untick "Empty the deleted items folder upon exiting".

If the mail has been deleted out of the deleted items folder it will never delete off the blackberry. Well this is the case for bes 4.0 if you are using bes 4.1 there is an option to set hard deletes to delete also.

If the above is done you also need to make sure on the blackberry "Hide Filed Messages" is set to yes.

Go into Messages > Options > General Options and Set "Hide Filed Messages to yes",

Done both of that but no luck. Deleted email still continues to hound the Inbox on the Blackberry even after Reconciling

You will also want to turn on "Hard Deletes Reconciliation" to see if that helps.
