Question MDS proxy HTTP/HTTPS

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

We have a BES server version 4.0 (no patch installed for this moment)

I try to configure my BES Server to allow surfing via my internal proxy server (isa server) to disable int the futur the WAP possibilities on the mobiles.

In HTTP 8080 it is good but not in HTTPS 443 (connection refused) - Why ?

In the monitoring of my ISASERVER I see traffic "Unidentified IP Traffic" coming from the BES for HTTP 8080 - Why ?

Sometimes I must authenticate myself several times whereas I ask to remember my password - Why ?

Default MDS proxy HTTP/HTTPS

Yes, I got the same problem here. We are using the BES v4.1.2 and we did configure the proxy server (ISA). It works fine for http access but it didn't work for https (443) at all.
When I checked the MDS log file, it stated that "Invalid http proxy server: null proxyname:8080".
I am also looking for a solution, please help if anyone has a solution.

Now we have installed the last version 4.1 and we still have the same problem.

We use ISA Server 2004 and SurfControl

Any idea ?

MDS-CS supports Basic, NTLM, Kerberos Authentications. I do remember that there is a known issue where if you're using NTLM or Kerberos authentications, your credential's username needs to be in UPPERCASE, else MDS-CS will not capture and keeps prompting you for it. It has something to do with the underlying Java stuff, which I wasn't able to recall for now.

I don't even get the username/password prompt for any https requests.

The workaround for me is to enter a username/password under proxy settings, MDS uses it for authentication. Users won't get a prompt for username/password. Good for the users.

Hope it is possible to back track to the users with PIN when necessary.
