Excuse my "noobish" question, but when I press my bluetooth headset button it redials, it doesn't give me a dial option (voicedial). How do you do that?

Thanks

So they don't charge extra for it right? The fee is for operator assisted voice dialing?

ive noticed this problem recently myself!

apparently different brands of bt headsets act differently.

with my old SE akono 660 i just tapped the call button and the voicedial prompt came up.

now with my blackberry hs-655 i have to hold the call button for about 2 seconds until i hear a beep. then let go and it will prompt me for a voice command.

play with your call button and see what combination of pressing, etc. will get yours to wake up and ask for a name to dial

There is no operator involved or any extra charges. The voice dialer feature is entirely hardware based and is done by the Pearl. Even if the Pearl was off the network the dialer feature would still dial.

My Pearl's voice dialer is great when I'm not in my 2006 BMW but it doesn't work when the bluetooth is paired. The phone pairs with the car but the voice dialing doesn't work: I can press the button and the screen says it's listening, but neither the car's nor the phone's microphone hear's anything. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you solve it?

This is definitely one of the features of the Pearl that I'm enjoying the most.

This is the one feature I don't like. It almost always interprets what I'm saying wrong. Only if I say Dial ____________ does it work right. And that doesn't always pick the right person.

Chris in CA, what do you mean by "reset", and/or how do I "register'?

The phone asks you for a command...... and gives you an option on screen... try using the word "call" and then say any name from your address book (first and last) and which number you want 'work' 'home' etc.... this is truly an awsome bit of kit and I love it!....

top tips... After doing any reset (mentioned above) try setting up the sensitivity and locality options....

I just found annother option to help!!!!!
if you go into 'options'---'voice dialing'----and press the options key (dunno if this is the right name for the key to the left of the pearl) then select addapt digits... this makes the voice dialing using numbers even easier!
just hit the button and say the numbers out loud...... works great!

Fantacka peice of software on a fantacka peice of kit...

Thanks. I will check that out. A lot of people I put in by first name only if they are the only one with that name. Does it only work with first and last name?

When I first started using it... it would ask me "did you say....... ect" on some first names so I now usualy use first and last.... ( this would only happen on those names that sounded similar) once I found how to 'tweek' the settings it worked great..... I keep the voice prompts setting on for two resons.... If the pearl gets confused it wil ask "did you say..... ect" to which the reply is yes/no/cancel/repeat..... if you have more than one number under a name it will ask you which one!

How cool is that?

maybe i just get all giddy over the simplest things.... (but not a spell checker!)

I have the same problem with my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Haven't spent any time figuring it out. Also would like to transfer my address book to the car system.

The other thing I noticed is some times on the status command it reads off the battery, signal strength, and coverage. At other times it prompts you for the item you would like to check. Seems to be random.

um... this may be a silly question but are you using the command "check" as in "check status"????

Slightly off subject, but can you do a voice tag on a specific contact? I did a search on my 8100, and it wasn't obvious (or maybe it too obvious )

Default Only Works When I say Last Name/First Name

For some reason Voice Dialing only works when Isay the last name and then first name. I used to have my Contacts sorted in my address book by last name but I changed it to sort by first name and Voice Dialing still only recoginizes last name/first name order. Anyone else having this problem?

As stated earlier, for the program to understand what you are saying you must say "call" before you say a contacts full name. Example. Wait for the tone, say "Call Bob Smith" or "Call Bob Smith Mobile". Always works. I had the same problem when I first got my pearl, thought it was the crappiest software ever. Now I have to show it off to every one I know. I tell them Say Call Your Name....They freak out, laugh and want one. Love it.

If that doesnt work try the suggestions on this thread.

Wont let me post links must have 10 post?
