Default Does anyone know any good programs to Create your own Ringtones?

New to the BlackBerry Nation!!

Just got my BlackBerry Curve and I'm just wondering is there any good programs to Create your own Ringtones. When I had my Nextel I was able to use a program that turned a mp3 into wav and transferred it to my Nextel via a USB Cable.

I wonder if there is a program like that for my BlackBerry...

You can use any MP3 or wav as well now. Just transfer it over to the device with the USB cable.

Southwestcomm is correct.

What I use is Audacity and cut the portion of the song I want to use as a ringtone/notification and then transfer it onto the device.

There was a free program floating around for your computer on the web called mp3 cutter. It allowed you to edit out what part of the mp3 you wanted to use as a ringer. You then could transfer them using a usb chord or do what I like to do and emailed them to my phone. I used it for a long time. But I assume any program that allowed you to do the same on your computer would work just as well.

That being said when I had my older curve I came across an app for the blackberry itself called mp3 ringtone creator. Its still available in the blackberry app world. It allows you to take any song you have on your blackberry and do the same thing as the mp3 cutter program. I like it a lot. Very good quality ringtones. Plus as long as you keep them under a certain size you can text them to anyone so they can use the ringtone as well. I have a storm2 now and still use the program. Although it was much easier to use on the curve with the trackball and all. Its take a good bit of acclimation on a touch screen. But I still use it all the time. Sometimes it gets on my nerves because all my friends always ask for specific tones and to text it to them.

Audacity

There are several online ringtone generators, also. Check out CellSea.com

highly recommend this site: audiko.net

you can upload your own song and cut the bit out that you want as a ringtone, then download it - OR check out what other people have already done - seriously large selection of free ring tones already available - very cool site.

Dave.

Default Awesome ringtone program

There is a fantastic FREE ringtone making program online at makeownringtone.com. I've been using this program for a year. The ringtones are so good that I know a couple of local bands who are actually selling the ringtones on their websites. And I like it because it's all online. Nothing to download or install. Good luck!
