Default Blackberry 8800 ring length

Is there anyway to increase the ring length when in the pouch, I have the same setting for in and out of the pouch (in profiles) but when its in the pouch it only rings for half the time (would be nice if both were longer) cant find anywhere to increase the length of the ring.

Every blackberry I have had only used the ring time of the various ringers used. The longer the ringer the longer each cycle would last.
I have VM on mine and after 3 rings it's gone so the longer rings work best for me.

Ring length is set by your carrier or by using the *61 feature code (search for detailed instructions). I can't see how holstered/unholstered would affect ring length... Is it set to vibe and ring in holster and only ring out of the holster?

I had many people in my department complain that when the phone rings in the middle of the night that they cant get to the phone in enough time in order to pick up the call.

The issue is that the Blackberry, by initial default, is set to vibrate a few times prior to audibly ringing.

If this is related to your problem, then all you need to do is change the settings on the profile that you use so that the 'Out of Holster' & 'In Holster' are both "Tone".

If you have "Vibrate + Tone" then it will Vibrate BEFORE ringing. It will not ring until it has Vibrated the number of times that is indicated on the setting "Number of Vibrations"

By doing this I have effectively given my phone 2-3 additional aubile rings, bringing my total # of rings up to 5-6 before my service goes to voice mail.

I hope this helps.

Regards
