Default question about aim on 8310

my friend just got an 8310 it was unlocked from atnt cause he has tmobile when he downloaded the aim messenger once it was downloaded and he tried to sign in it said something about he doesnt have the service on the handheld does this have to do anything with the model any help would be appreciated

i had that problem too. he needs to upgrade to the latest os. i have 4.5.0.102 and aim works perfectly

Upgrade the software, and after the setup his BB should resend all the service books if AIM was installed on the device and was backed up and reinstalled. If not just resend the service books and try again to connect to AIM
